The buying surface changed. Your buyer no longer types a query into Google and clicks ten blue links. They ask Claude, ChatGPT, Perplexity, or Gemini, and the model hands back a shortlist of two or three names. You're either on the list or you're not.
Marcus Sheridan and Patrick Moorhead saw this coming and built AI Trust Signals around it — a 19-signal framework, launched in 2025, scored against assessments of more than 3,500 companies. Their thesis is short: to win in the AI Answer Economy, you have to be trusted by the algorithm and the human at the same time. Most marketing optimizes for one. The 19 signals tell you what the model is actually weighing when it decides who to recommend.
That's why trust is the only durable advantage left. Features get cloned in a weekend. Ad budgets get outspent. A reputation the model already trusts compounds. Without trust, you're a bust.
